What makes the SPC-40 so
special? Compressor wheel speed, more
speed and then add some more speed. You
can expect up to 15 psi +/- for a small engine!
All of our SPC superchargers use full metal construction from high grade
aluminum (200% stronger than T-6 grade), titanium, steel and ceramic. You won’t find any cheap plastic or rubber
bodies on our SPC units. Personally,
this is one of my favorites because it requires less power than the twin motor
units and can put a small engine to work…hardcore…
NEW
!!
- Our superchargers now feature our patent pending carbon
fiber
Hyper-Lite Compressor Wheel®. The
compressor wheel weighs 73% less than its aluminum counterpart…it even floats
in water
it is so light! Too, all of our superchargers have the new Quad
Runsoft Constant Contact System power transmission.
Each patent pending SPC-40 features:
-
Hyper-Lite Compressor
Wheel® – This is our patent pending supercharger compressor wheel made
completely from composite! They weigh
73% less than their aluminum counterpart for most models.
Far lighter weight means less energy draw,
high total speed capability and far longer life for shaft bearings.
-
RCCS® – Runsoft
Constant Contact System is our patent pending power transmission setup. It has an amazing 99% energy transfer due to
its staggered twin star gear that rolls on to the roller gear giving it
constant contact. Because the star gear
teeth roll onto a high speed ceramic mini bearing on the roller gear as
it
turns, it has extremely low wear and no maintenance. RCCS
requires no cooling or external
lubrication. Each bearing is permanently
lubricated and each bearing only makes a fraction of a turn at a time
when they
come into contact with the star gear.
This leap forward in design is also much quieter than our
previous
spiral bevel gear design.

Full aluminum
centrifugal housing and back plate. All screws and bolts are of high
grade for durability. We can custom powder coat or anodize the housings
or the computer/motor housing.
-
Twin opposed 108amp
ultra high speed brushless motors able to handle 12 volts – 24 volts, no
load
rpm per volt is 4,000. This equates to 12v = 48,000 no load RPM - up to
–
24v = 96,000rpm. Gearing - for each motor turn on the input shaft, it
equals 2.5 turns on the output shaft. Theoretical no load output shaft
speed is 120,000rpm @ 12v and 240,000rpm @ 24v. Actual load speeds are
about 30% less than no load speeds; approximate loaded speed is 84,600rpm
@ 12v. With 24v, the speed is electronically
limited to 150,000rpm.
We electronically limit the speed to stay well within the materials
shear
strength. We provide a secondary battery with all of our superchargers
because the burst start up on these combined motors can be over
400amps.
Our batteries have a burst capability that will handle this awesome
power
need…and there discharge speed is similar to that of a capacitor. These
motors are rated at 50,000 hours.
-
Twin high amperage,
high voltage ultra low resistance computers to control the twin motors,
200amp
constant and 220amp burst, both encased in our patent pending full
aluminum
cooling box. Inside the box the computers are encased in a vibration
resistant ceramic with copper liquid cooling runs. The ceramic heat
dissipation system is set atop a vibration gel pad to counter vibration
from
the vehicle. Keep in mind that at cruise
speeds, they system doesn’t draw much.
-
To cool the high speed
electric motors, computers and gear box, we use a small radiator and fan
setup.
The pump creates very little electrical draw and has a life of 50,000
hours.
The supercharger cooling system is not connected to the engines main
cooling
system. The radiator is an 18 plate design and measures 11” Long x 5.5”
Tall and 0.75” deep. The fan will add approximately 1.5” to the depth
for
a total of 2.25” for the overall depth. General mounting hardware and
tubing are included. The picture below shows the radiator kit (does not
show the fan or pump, however those are included with the supercharger
kit).
-
Full aluminum gear box
designed with cooling ways around the motors and shaft bearings. They are CAD designed and CNC cut for
precision.
-
Titanium input and
output shafts to reduce moving mass weight and afford ultra strength for
the
extreme speeds and lightning fast spooling up of 1/5 of a second.
Because
of the extreme and very sudden torque, these are secondary process,
stress
relieved shafts.
-
Battery to computer
power cable is “4” or “0” gauge oxygen free low resistance wire (do not
simply
go to the store and buy power cable for the SPC superchargers, please
use our
included wires so you don’t have energy loss from cheap wires); the tri
wire
sets from each computer to each motor is three 10 gauge silver coated
copper
ultra low resistance wire, the grounding wire is 4 gauge oxygen free
cable.

In cabin fighter style
or discrete rocker arming switch with 10’ of super high grade Teflon
silver
coated copper wire
All systems
come standard with a cam style setup that
attaches to the throttle body and controls the supercharger boost. We highly
recommend the Computer
programmable progressive boost option and it is a must for drive-by-wire
vehicles…it
is an additional $320.00 (again, we highly recommend this because it so
far
easier and more flexible for tuning).
High flow cone
filter from AEM or K&N. Do not use
a cheap filter, they can collapse under high cfm draw situations.
Basic
installation instructions are included.
Approximate
over all dimensions – 9” H x 8.5” W x 6.75” D,
Inlet is 4” and outlet is 3”
Finish options: Powder coating and Anodizing – a
gazillion colors available and custom colors can be made. Basic colors
such as red, blue, black and yellow are colors that do not fall under
the
non-refundable category. All other colors are non-refundable. Please
see the color page(soon to be up)...or email us for color information
jim@superpowercharger.com Powder Coating - add $37 for basic color,
Anodizing
- $67 basic color. For exotic or special colors – they are quoted as per
your
request.
Included in this price is: Electric supercharger, dual computer system
encased
in aluminum, basic wiring, progressive cam adapter for cable driven
throttles,
in cabin arming switch, cone filter, fuse holder with fuse, one Power
Plant 12-55 Dominator Series race battery.
What is not
included: You will need an
intercooler and a blow-off-valve (BOV)...please see our intercooler
section for that. You or your
mechanic will need some basic electrical wiring skills and typically
some creative ability
to install supercharger and intercooler on your vehicle. This may
include a trip to the hardware
store, drilling and bolting. There is always at least some fabrication
for
installation. We feel that it is best if you can bring your SPC
supercharger to
a few exhaust shops to see if they will bend a custom intake tube for
you…otherwise you can order tubing from us. You cannot force or suck
this much air through any stock intake
box or thin plastic material...period. Remember, this is an ultra high
performance system. If you plan on running this higher than 6psi - 8psi
on a stock vehicle, you must use a fuel and timing management computer
OR we
highly recommend purchasing a Snow Performance water methanol injection
system
from us. Installing a high capacity fuel pump and larger injectors may
be
need if you wish to get maximum performance.
ORDER NOW to avoid being way back on the list! Due to the
extreme popularity of these superchargers, you
will want to place your order as soon as possible or you will get
further and
further out on the backorder list. Currently, the backorder build time
is
approximately 60+/- days from the time of order.
